Modern pearlware bust of John Wesley in the manner of Enoch Wood. The hair style is double roll with the bottom roll on shoulder. The gown is in ridged folds. The socle is square and hollow.

"The original inscription read the Rev. John Wesley M.A. Fellow of Lincoln College Oxford and Founder of Methodism. He sat for this bust to Mr. Enoch Wood, Sculptor, Burslem in 1781 and died in 1791 aged 88 years. "Is not this a brand plucked out of the fire?"
