An English gold and white enamel mourning ring dated 1750. Often a middle or upper class person would leave money in their will to pay for a memento which was given to their family or close friends. As such they are very real links to the person they commemorate. John Romley was curate at St Andrews Church, Epworth. He died in 1750 aged 50 having descended into madness and confinement.
