Earthenware round straight edged plate with blue transfer print profile of John Wesley facing right in the manner of John Michael Williams R.A. (1710-1780) portrait 1742. There is a drawing of the Aldersgate Flame sculpture with the inscription "About a Quarter before nine I felt my heart strangely warmed. I felt I did trust in Christ.". There is a long inscription on the back. "During 1988 Methodists throughout the world celebrated the 250th Anniversary of John Wesley's evangelical conversion, which took place 24th May 1738. Depicted is a fine drawing of John Wesley adapted from a painting by J.M.Williams, alongside the shaped 'flame' of the Aldersgate Memorial, This stands on the concourse of the London Museum and marks the site of John Wesley's conversion.
