earthenware round plate with portrait of Wesley

Earthenware round straight edged plate with coloured print of John Wesley facing 3/4 left in the manner of William Hamilton RA (1750-1801) portrait painted in 1789 and engraved by Samuel Freeman (1773-1857). There is shading on either side of Wesley. His face and hands are flesh colour. He has a white cravat and bands coming from the top, a black cassock and gown. His left hand is holding open the pages of a book (Bible). The border decoration is hand enamel painted green with black floral design and an inscription printed in black"John Wesley 1703 1791 Hartley Victoria Methodist College"
