Print of John Wesley's escape from the Epworth Rectory fire (1709)

Depicting the fire at the previous Epworth Rectory in 1709. Flames come from the building, standing on the left. John Wesley is standing in front of a window on the first floor. Two men, one standing on the other's shoulders, are trying to rescue John. Outside on the street are several people looking and reaching out to the building. In the background on the right the Parish Church can be seen. The print has been coloured in, aspects coloured in are; the flames, some people's clothing and the foliage on the trees.
