Bradford, Sept 8 1778. Dear Sammy, I am glad to hear my Dear Betsy (whom I tenderly love) continues to Enjoy her Health. But she cannot enjoy it long unless she will use Exercise more or less Every day. I particularly recommend to her Acquaintance, Sister Maleson’s & Ward Nay to her friendship, for they are worthy. One request I have to make to bro Hampson & you, that neither you nor he, should on any account, reason or pre text stay in Cork above a month at a time. I pray, faith not in this, I know ye changed constantly with the better for the people, & better for your selves. I am with kind Love to Betsy, Dear Sammy, Yours Affectionately, J Wesley.
