Commemorative Portrait medal 1836 with half length profile of John Wesley facing 3/4 front left. The obverse profile is in the manner of John Jackson RA (1778-1831) portrait (1927) engraved by T A Dean. John Wesley is wearing a cassock and gown with preaching bands coming from the top of a cravat. He is preaching from a pulpit with his right hand slightly raised above a book (Bible) which is resting open on a cushion with a fringe. His left hand fingers are between the pages of the book. There is a paper marking a place in the right hand pages. The reverse has an inscription in straight lines.
