moulded horn miniature bust of John Wesley

Moulded horn miniature bust of John Wesley with mother of pearl preaching bands with brass sealing wax die. The bust is made from moulded ox of buffalo horn with mother of pearl bands. The bust is on an oblong socle with chamfered corners. There is a round brass die with a criss-cross pattern. It is produced in the manner of the Johann Zoffany (1733-1810) portrait (c1760). The hair has rolls on either side of the head with a lower roll from side to side resting on the shoulder. The face has 3 frown marks. The bust has a cassock and the gown has full folds meeting in the middle.
