Parian bust of John Wesley in the manner of Enoch Wood modelled from life in 1791. The back is solid. The hair is single roll on shoulder. The gown is in full folds and the band comes from the top of the cravat. The socle is square .

The Reverend John Wesley. M.A. Fellow of Lincoln College, Oxford and founder of Methodism. He sat for this bust to Mr. Enoch Wood, sculptor, Burslem 1791 and died in 1791 aged 88 years."Is not this a brand plucked out of the fire"
