Moulded horn miniature bust of George Whitfield in the manner of Nathaniel Hone (1718-1784) portrait (c1769) with mother of pearl preaching bands. The bust is moulded in either ox or buffalo horn on an integral oblong socle with chamfered corners. The hair is a wig with a large roll of hair resting on the shoulders. There is one frown mark on the face. The gown has full folds meeting on the middle.
