Moulded horn miniature bust of John Wesley in the manner of Johann Zoffany (1733-1810) portrait (c1760) with mother of pearl preaching bands. The bust is moulded in either ox or buffalo horn on an integral oblong socle with chamfered corners. A special feature of the socle is a round brass die with a criss cross pattern. The hair is styled in a roll on either side of the head with a lower roll from side to side resting on the shoulders. There are 3 frown marks on the face. The gown has full folds meeting on the middle.
