Earthenware figure of John Fletcher on an integral round solid base

Earthenware figure of John William Fletcher (1729-1785) with a solid flowing gown. The hair is styled in a single roll at each side and is coloured grey. The face is flesh coloured, the pupils are black, the eyebrows are black. The cheeks are pink and the lips are red. The black cassock is calf length. There is a black cravat and cummerbund and the bands are white, come form the top of the cravat. The gown has white flowing folds reaching the base at the sides and the back. The legs have white stockings and the shoes are black. The hands are pale flesh coloured and the right hand is held forward at chest height but the hand is missing. The left hand is holding a skull at chest height. The base is round and has a gold line at the front and sides.
