Parian figure of John Wesley painted black and flesh colour on an integral round socle

Parian figure of John Wesley in the manner of Minton shape 47. The back is hand finished and is a shaped gown with full folds. The hair is styled in a single roll at each side with ringlets resting on the shoulders and coloured grey. The face has a dark flesh colour and the pupils and eyebrows are black. There is a black cassock and white cravat. The white bands come from the top of the cravat. The legs have stockings and the shoes are black. The gown is black calf length with full folds and the shirt cuffs are white. The right hand is held at chest height and the left hand is also at chest height and is holding an open book (Bible). The book has black covers, brown pages and black lines. The socle is round and painted with a black marble effect.
