Earthenware figure of John Wesley in the manner of Minton shape 47. The hair is styled in a single roll at each side. Extending from this and at the back the hair hangs straight to the shoulders in curls and is coloured grey. The face is flesh coloured, the pupils are black, the eyebrows are pronounced black. The cheeks are pink and the small lips are red. The black cassock is calf length and there is a white cravat and black cummerbund. The legs have white stockings and the shoes are black. The hands are flesh coloured and the right hand points forward. The left hand is under a part open book (Bible). The book is open and has a red cover. The base is round and painted with a gold line.
