Earthenware figure of John Wesley on an integral square hollow base

Earthenware figure of John Wesley in the manner of Nathaniel Hone RA(1718-1784)portrait 1765 with a slightly concave back. the hair is styled in a single roll on the shoulder and coloured dark grey. The face is flesh coloured, the pupils are black, the eyebrows have black brush strokes and the eyelids have a thin black line. The cheeks are pink and lips are dark red. The black cassock has a diamond pattern and reaches down to the shoes. The legs can not be seen and the shoes are black. The right hand is flesh coloured and held above shoulder height and the left hand rests on the chest. the shirt cuffs are white. the base is square hollow and painted green on all sides.
