earthenware jug with lustre decoration and black transfer profile of Wesley, the bible and centenary hall.

Bulbous shaped earthenware jug decorated with lustre decoration and black transfer prints and a black line around the rim with a narrow line below. There is black highlighting on the spout. The handle is ear shaped and undecorated. With the handle to the right there is a small half length portrait of John Wesley in the manner of John Jackson RA (1778-1831) portatrait painted in 1827. and inscribed below and slightly to the right printed Revd J Wesley. With handle to the left a black transfer-print picture of a five bay three storey building standing on a rusticated base. In the distance there are oteher buildings. Below in black transfer print "Centenary Hall 1839 London. With handle to the back a black transfer print of an open Bible on a cushion with a fringe below also drapes either side and below the fringe. there are 19 shafts of light radiating from behind the Bible and written on the bible are the words "Holy Bible".
