With the handle to the back there is a half-length print of John Wesley looking 3/4 right in the manner of the miniature painted by John Barry (Fl. 1780-1830) and with the handle to the right within tied drape curtains there is the inscription "Celebration of the Centenary of Wesleyan Methodism Oct.28th 1839. With the handle to the left and within tied back draped curtains " Revd John Wesley Founder of Methodism Born June 17th 1703 Died Mar 2nd 1791
