oak coffer chest

Oak lid of chest has three panels. On the front the frieze has arcaded carving supported on two plain stiles. Both the back and sides have two plain panels. The base has the wood grain going from front to back. Inside is a candle box or more correctly a box to contain sweet smelling herbs. The joints are pegged and there are 2 original iron long tail hinges.
